Today the Mayor of Zrenjanin City, dr Mileta Mihajlov, signed the Contracts with the ice for ice control at the territory of Zrenjanin City. Actually the activities of ice control were transferred from Republic Weather Forecast Institute to the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Emergency Sector.
The main problem with this activity is funding of 24-hour duty contractors and purchase of ice breaking rockets during the period of 15.April to 15 October, during the ice control season.
Since the Law on ice Control was not adopted last year this issue is solved by coofinancing of the Government of Republic of Serbia and MIA / purchase of rockets/ and Institute of Weather Forecast /4000 dinars for shooters/ , supported by the local governments contributing the shooters. on monthly basis for 6-month season.
According to today signed contracts the City of Zrenjanin will pay shooters 7,000 dinars per month.
