Zrenjanin Gerontology Center - an example of good practice

Aleksandar Marton, the  President of the City Assembly has visited today the Gerontology Center, where he, together with the Director, Zorica Vučković, talked about the work of this Institution. 
- All the plans are directed to the improvement of the quality of accommodation of  our beneficiaries, improvement of professional work, an to all that  will contribute to  a better and more  comfortable  accommodation and staying in our Institution – says Zorica Vučković, adding that Institution is to be licensed as all other institutions  in the field of social welfare, as it is defined  by the new Social Welfare Law. According to her the gerontology Center has prepared for this process and it is  expected to obtain the licence among the first  cities in Serbia.
 

 

- The plans for  future includes the reconstruction of the second floor of our C building. In that way about 30 beneficiaries will get more comfortable conditions  of accommodations. Also we would like to make our services available for elderly people in surrounding villages so we apply for  the funds through a project for gerontology hostesses and 21 persons will be trained within this Project for these activities – announced the Director of  the Gerontology Center Zrenjanin.

 

      

 

Aleksandar Marton, the President of the City Assembly  commended the work of this Institution, pointing out that its work is recognized  even by other countires.
- The Gerontology Center of Zrenjanin is well known for the quality of  its services to elderly and old and disabled citizens  and the care for these people certainly should be  one of the priorities of the state. This Zrenjanin Institution functions  excellent and  is setting  an example for  other institutions – concluded  Marton, adding that further efforts should be made to extend the capacities so that even a larger number of our citizens  can  use the services of the Gerontology Center.
