Swimming pool reconstruction, aqua park planned

Deputy Mayor Čedomir Janjić visited today, with his associates, the reconstruction area of closed swimming pool. He pointed out that the reconstruction would significantly improve the training conditions for swimmers, potential new champions.
- Zrenjanin is famous for swimmers and bad training conditions. I believe this reconstruction will eliminate the problem. This is only the first step that  the City is making for swimmers and waterpolo players. The building of an aqua park, as was promised in  the election campaign, is planned. Yes, we will build the aqua park during our mandate, but not like in other cities, but the best one in Serbia. We have been working on it, the project designing has already started, we want an aqua park that will  work during  all 12 months and which will be a true tourist attraction – said Janjić.

 

      

Dušan Damnjanović, the Manager of the swimming pool says that the works started  in summer and  are supposed to be finished by 1 October.
- The reconstruction  of the closed swimming pool  is executed by a  Valjevo company Kej. The reconstruction includes new tiles, installations, toilets and all   which is necessary to  provide better conditions for both citizens and swimmers. Also I hope the  plans for the  open swimming pool reconstruction are finished, this  is planned for the next year, so that we will be able to  be proud of our swimming pool – he said.
 

      

The total value is 17 million dinars, and the funds are provided by the budget of the Zrenjanin City.
 

Last year the City invested into the building of new boiler room improving the heating system and making it energy efficient.

 

The reconstruction is very important for Zrenajnin sportsmen since they had to travel to nearby cities for their trainings, while our swimming pool was even closed for some  time, after  the inspection order.
