In the memory of the veterans died in war conflicts 1991-1999

 In the presence of family members and relatives, representatives of local government of the City of Zrenjanin, Liberation War Veterans Association and the war conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, War Disabled Veterans and clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church, memorial service was held today and laid a wreath to memorial of the killed in conflicts 1991 - 1999, from the territory of the City of Zrenjanin. On the behalf of the City of Zrenjanin, the wreath was laid by Predrag Stankov Deputy Mayor and City Council member Vojislav Matic.
 
      
 
Laying the wreath the Chairman of the War Disabled Veterans, the Chairman of the Association, Jovica Pilipović, said that the traditional Serbian Celebration / Vidovdan/, due to its historical symbolism was chosen as the date of memorial to 50 our citizens, military and police forces and volunteers were killed in war conflicts in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.
 - Last year the City allocated funds for the building of this memorial and we hope we  will be able to  keep the tradition. The Association has now 240 members,  – said Pilipović.
 
      
 
According to Deputy Mayor of Zrenjanin, Predrag Stankov, the City took part in this memorial in the honour of the killed citizens wishing this   never happens again – said Stankov.
 
The memorial was designed by the architect Milica Kovač, and the names of  the citizens killed in  the war conflicts in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and at Kosovo. The monuments was financially supported by the City of Zrenjanin with about 1.3 million dinars.
